Wednesday at Patchwork

We are a busy group of ladies working at our patchwork and enjoying the friendships.
We have a very large room to enjoy doing our patchwork.
The three ladies working are cutting out a Stack and Whack Blocks which is one of the projects for this year.

This term we will be making blocks for the Childrens Hospital and putting the Quilt together in an all day workshop.

The Mystery Quilt will start before the end of term so the ladies can work on the step one over the Easter Holidays.
Last of all we are all getting ready for our second retreat at Waterslea in two weeks.

Its almost that time again for our Crafty Chicks retreat.
We are going to Nowra again as we all had so much fun.

Sewing, Chatting, eating and more sewing.

Blocks for Quilts for Keeps

This time I am first to finish the project for Crafty Chicks Patchwork group.
Last week we were told that we could start our block using any background fabric for the Quilts for Keeps, Westmead Childrens Hospital quilt.
I found a lovely cream with very small dots of lemon for my background and then looked in my stash for pastel fabrics to make this block as its going to be for a girl. The next quilt the group is making will be for a boy.
The lovely block is designed by Pamela Davis from her quilt pattern Pretty Whimsies from Australian Country craft and Decorating mag
Vol 19 N010.
The block pictured shows four blocks together with the different applique
pieces that make up each small block. The quilt has a total of 64 small blocks which are finished 7 1/2ins.The quilt will be a very scrappy.

Stitchery Bag

As you can see I am slowly getting to the Stitcheries for the Bloomin' Flowers Stitching Bag
that I start last year.
I have finished pocket one and three and working on the other two.
See Stitchery Post Sept 2009. All the ladies at craft have finsihed there bags. I am just so slow!!! or have to much family to look after at home.

What have I been doing craft wise

This is a little bag when finished is for taking my cup and plate set to craft for morning tea.
The bag pattern was in Homemade mag last years Mothers Edition.

Mystery Quilt

The Mystery Quilt package arrived over a week ago. What fun!!!

Here are the lovely packs of fabric that are part of the mystery.

Each packet is numbered and sealed so no snooping!!!!! (As FIL would say to me)

I have started the first part but I can not show you until later as there are lots of other Quilters doing this quilt. (do not want to spoil the mystery.)
The Quilt is a fundraiser Bedford Foundation in SA.
