I have been busy the last few weeks so haven't posted.
The tote bag is now finished and I have posted a photo. The bag is great when I go to craft just the right size.
I have added a second photo that is a little easier to open.
My DS2 and I when shopping today and my bag came with us and it was very handy. DS2 has finished his Tafe course and needed a suit for job interviews and I tried to finish my Christmas shopping no luck.
There are some unfinished ATC sets. The first set was made from a piece of wet felting that I had cut up to made about 10 atc's. The second set called Crazy Blue are patchwork blocks that I cut up as they don't turn out the right colours for the quilt I was making.
I have been busy the last few days making a kitchen tea present. My friends daughter who is having her kitchen tea party this coming weekend. I was making a table runner but that didn't work out. Sheree now has four cream and blue place mats. The fabric I have used is called Cavalier Gabardine and it is so lovely to work with. The pattern in the centre of the place mats we used the giga hoop on my Janome 350e.

Work in progress is my new bag that we started last week at my craft group. The bag starts with 12 x 6" charms squares or any 3" scraps. The small bag uses 5" squares.
I have a small collection of Asian Fabric so there was no problem finding an assortment of fabrics for this bag. I had the background fabric as well so this bag is cost free except for the fusible Pellon. The next step is to do the bias strips. What fun!!!!!!! The bag pattern is again in Patchwork & Stitching mag and is called Latticed Totes vol. 7 no. 11. Will posted photo of bag when finished and maybe some of the other ladies bags too.
I have made this bag a few times before but this is my one to keep. The pattern is in one of the Aussie Mag called Patchwork and Stitching. The bag is very easy to make with 22 charm squares. I have made this bag with 5" squares but any size is OK. Last year for our Craft group stall at the Church Fete I made 4 1/2" square bags and one little one with 2 1/2" squares.
The photo of the three bags are some of the bags I made last year for the stall including the little Perfect Patches bag.

This long weekend I have been busy making Postcards and OTC's for swaps that I am in on my internet groups. The three sets are going to Diana in NZ for her NO theme swap and the other cards are for my overseas group. These cards will be posted later. The Cards that are in the following photo's were for swaps in August/September.
These are the lovely FQ's I brought from a stall today at Wenty's Quilters Show. They are just lovely and what great PC's and OTC's they could make but the Batiks will have to join the others in my stash. I have this problem that I only see blues and purples when I buy. I will have to learn to get out of my safety zone and add more colours. The Quilts were lovely and very pretty with lots to look at.
Looking forward to the craft show at Rosehill this coming week as I would like to get some embroidery threads from Royal as the company has all these gorgeous colours. My 350e class is doing next month a beautiful Hatched in African Peacock as a class project and I need more colours. We are putting the peacock on black homespun. I would also like to get some felting wool to do some Atc's for the next cancer swap that Cecile will be hosting later this year.
I love to grow plants and my favourite plant is African Violets which I have been growing for over 18 years. I grow them under lights and have had in the past three light stands which my Darcy is sitting on. My DH is a Electrician and that helps as he can wire up the wooden stands for me. Here are some photo's of my flowering plants and my little helper Darcy again.
I made this quilt in class September 2006 and now it hangs in my sewing room. The quilt is only a small wallhanging 19 1/2" x 14 1/2" and was taken from a photo that I took about 25 years ago when my DH and I were on holidays somewhere in Aussie.
My new toy the Janome 350E has been getting at workout the last few months. The best thing is learning how to get the embroidery patterns in the right place. The photo is of a teddy bear that I am making in the 350e class at Hobbysew. All the bits are now embroided, now comes the fun part putting the bear together but that's OK I have made furry bears before.
Mum and Dad's Memory Quilt is finally finished on the 18th July. Mum so loves the quilt and has showed the quilt off to all her friends. All her lady friends wanted to know how I did the photo's and put them in the quilt, that was the easy part. Now it is Mum who has to find the right spot to hang her quilt. Darcy the helper loves to help me pin Mum's quilt.
Jeanette & George my DH’s Mum & Dad will be married for fifty years on 29th May and family and friends surprised them with a party yesterday Sat 26th May. Mum & Dad were so surprised as they had though that we had forgotten. The party was wonderful and Mum & Dad were so happy to see friends, some old friends, family and long lost family came. Cathy my SIL had the party at her place in the garage as seen in the photo. The memory quilt that I started was given as a quilt top as time ran out and I had been sick with the flu. Mum loved the top and handed it back and is waiting for it to be quilted by next week please. Ha Ha !!!!!!!!!!! The weather got colder as the night went on but not as cold as May can be so we were luckly on the night. There were two outdoor heaters that keep us warm. Photo’s taken on the night.
arrived my 50th birthday. My DH & 2 DS's gave me a Janome 350E machine. I have had it for two weeks now and have had a little play but the big day is the 21st.
I so love my other Janome seen with my little helper Darcy ( This photo was taken when we first brought him home at 3 months old.)
Last Friday a week ago I went to the 350E club at my local sewing centre and had my first class on using my machine. I am so going to enjoy my new toy. Darcy loves to help me in my sewing room.
It has been a few days since I have added to my blog. Have been busy with life. Last week I finished some more ATC's that I have posted to friends on internet groups. The Photo's of these ATC's are posted here today. I so enjoy doing these little cards.
It's a great way to use up all those little scraps of fabric that are just sitting in boxes.
The blue and pink ATC that I called "Happy Garden" is made from fabric that is in my first quilt that I made for my bed October 2002.
I have finally been able to have time to take photos to post to my blog. Here is the photo of the baby quilt I have made for my neighbours Daughter's baby which is due anytime.
The pattern for this quilt was in a Patchwork and Stitching mag. One of my favourite mags.
Here are the Atc's that I received in the swap run by Cecile for Cancer. The swap was great fun and a great way to learn new techniques. I recieved back 25 cards as I sent in five sets.
My two furry boys Darcy and Rusty in their play room.
This photo was taken October 2005. Rusty was 2 years old September 2006 and Fitzwilliam Darcy was two years old November 2006 he is a Longhaired burmilla.
My first post. Yesterday received my ATC's for cancer in the mail. The ATC's are great and what a bunch of clever ladies are on this group. The swap was great fun. I have placed all my cards in a folder that was once was my Sons that had his Pokemon cards in it. My cards are now very easy to see. Will post some photo's soon. Finished the baby quilt for my neighbours Daughter who is due in a few weeks.
