Zygocactus and more

Early one morning last week I had my camera in hand and here is what I ended up with. I have a passion for plants for many years and different size shade houses but this is the larges of all.
The Pergola is at the side of the house and is entered by the back door. My DH closed the pergola area in with shade cloth and lattice so it can be used by my two furry boys as a playroom. The Boston Ferns are loved by Darcy as he can hind under the leaves and hunt for small critters and me when its time to come inside before dark.

Last Post re bag

Last week I posted on my blog a bag that I have just finished. On Friday I found at the local newsagency a new mazagine with the pattern for the Roomy Craft Tote.
Country Patchwork Vol 9 no4. has the bag on the front cover.

Tote Bag

One more wip finished as of last friday night. This bag is big enough for all my quilting things for when I go to patchwork on Wednesdays.
I have added a fassy cut peice of the fabric to the front pocket as you can see in the close up photo.

The Roomy Craft Tote bag pattern is in Australian Patchwork & Stitching magazine Vo.8. no. 11 by Leanne Valiukas

Mum's Quilt

This is a quilt that my MIL made with the fabric that she was given as a present from me. The reason I have this quilt is Mum and Dad were in a car accident the day before Mothers Day. Mum now has a broken knee and sternum but they are both ok now. Mum will take a little while to heal.

The quilt landed at my place to be finished off and taken to the local patchwork shop to be quilted and the blinding sewed on and the label made. The label was fun as i used my embroidery machine.

The fabric use was "Fig and Plum" jelly roll, charm pack and a few metres of fabric for the borders.
Here is a photo of the back of the quilt that shows the lovely rose pattern of the quilting.

The Quilt pattern is called "Spring is in the Air" by Maree StClair from Australian Patchwork & Quilting magazine Vo. 17 no.3

In our Garden

My DH loves garden's not grass and everywhere we have plants now. These three flowering plants are all in gardens DH made in our backyard where once was a pool.

The top plant with the pretty lavender coloured flowers is planted in the top gardens near the clothes line and the bird cages.
The Camellia's are near the side fence near the pond which was once the pool area.
The light pink camellia is one of the plants DH got from the council in one of the free plants give aways that we have each year in the local area.
I just love this time of year in the garden with all my Camellia's flowering.

Fabric--French General

Yesterday while I was at patchwork shop to purchase a Garden Party jelly roll and some fabric (Shop had 20% off for all June) so I could make the Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt Along ( see tab at side)and guess what I found.
There was a quilt made with Rural Jardin by French General fabric which I just love. Today there was another trip to Penrith and here is what I have now all the blue fabric's in the range to make a quilt plus the pattern that I got yesterday.
As you can see Darcy approves of my purchase and has made himself very comfortable on my Boxy Stars quilt which only has hand sewing to be done and the pattern and the new fabrics.

My furry boys.

My two boys do love to show off. Rusty is happy to sit on his scratching post and look out the back window. As you can see he loves his photo taken.
Darcy is ready for sleep and Mum is to slow in getting a blanket to put on the lounge.
Very spoiled boys are my two furry ones.

Rusty my big beautiful boy

Rusty is a cute large cat when he wants to be.
This photo was taken by DH one night last week in May when I had all the washing handing inside as the weather over the last few weeks has looked like rain and now this week we did get rain and boy did it rain.
Anyway back to my big boy Rusty the photo was taken because he does not jump he is to big and heavy but he found his way up on top of my bear bookcase. Rusty jumped from the cat scatching post over to the bookcase and this is the cat that can not climb onto the top of my African Violet stand or the cat cage outside to get Darcy
